Project Success – How is it Achieved and Evaluated ?

Introduction: " Project success " can mean many things to different people – the team might consider a project as successful if they met their pre-defined cost, time and output requirements, whereas the end-users or owners of the output ultimately may not. As we all know, many projects do fail (see related Bibliography " Project Failures ") – but what is a successful project? And how can project managers ensure that they meet some measurement of success at all levels – their own roles, their teams, their organisation, and the client/stakeholders? This large collection of papers cover most industries, and looks at ways that project success is determined from many angles, as well as a broad array of subject area such as communication, leadership, contract and stakeholder management, risk management and different models – that help ensure that project success.
